That Geometric Dress

Dress (River Island) Boots (Topshop)

This dress is one of those that you can just never make your mind up about. When I saw it in the River Island sale I fell in love with the silky smooth material and geometric print. Well in actual fact I had already fallen in love with the print when my friend bought a jacket in the same print. Despite this, it took me three shopping trips trying it on to decide to buy it.The reason for this is because the sizing of this dress is crazy, I ended up having to buy it two sizes larger than I normally would. Who knows what was going on there! But because of this it meant the fit of the dress was slightly unusual but I realised this is the perfect dress for those 'food baby' days (which by the way, bizarrely, has been added to the English dictionary). The longer I wear the dress the more I seem to love it.

Floral Feeling

Kimono (Zara) Crop Top (Topshop) High Waisted Jeans (Topshop)

I'm one of those girls with a kind of style that is often fairly minimal with one statement piece. Whether it is lipstick, shoes or a jacket. This kimono works wonders as an adorable statement. It is unbelievably comfortable. I think it was by far the best thing I bought this summer!

I had recently given in to buying the Revlon Just Bitten balm stain (I've had my eyes on it for months but never got round to buying it) so I paired it with this outfit. I thought it complemented the kimono perfectly.
Ooh, I would totally recommend it aswell, its stay power is surprisingly good, the colour (Lovesick) is so complimentary to paler skin tones and it is also very moisturising, which is always a bonus for summer for that fresh faced, radiant look.

When In Doubt Khaki It Out

Jacket, Top and Skirt (Topshop) Boots (River Island)

Bangles (Accessorize) Bag (Zara)

Ring (Topshop)

A khaki jacket is a wardrobe must!
It's the kinda thing you can throw on and go.
I wasn't really doing anything in particular today so I wanted a basic outfit that was comfy but one that I still felt confident in and not too much of a slob. Skater skirts and khaki jackets are both equally perfect items for days like this so I thought I'd combine the two.
Pairing the skirt with the fitted crop top, I think evens out the proportions to avoid looking too boxy.
I was so comfy all day long I loved it.
P.S. I took this photo at the end of the day so I had taken my lipstick off by then :( and don't look quite as presentable as I could've done.
I hope you like it!

Diamonds Aren't Always A Girls Best Friend

These are few of my favourite lipsticks...

Chanel (Limited Edition) Rouge Allure Velvet L'infidele

Chanel Rouge Coco Magnolia (117)

MAC Vegas Volt

Maybelline Fushia Flash (902)

Sephora Rouge - The Red
Forget “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”, diamonds are far too pricey. Lipstick, on the other hand isn’t.
I’ve noticed many women have their own ways with lipstick. Some like it statement. Some like it subtle. And some, well it’s just not their cuppa tea. But you can tell a lot about a girl by her lipstick, well to some extent anyway.
Marilyn Monroe, for example, you could say that her iconic red lip, a colour related to love, promoted her as a major sex symbol. As well as this, another iconic symbol related to girls are Barbie dolls, it seems Barbie’s were always given pink lipstick. I’m guessing generally to reinforce the girly stereotype Barbie represented, but the lipstick still made a difference.

Confidence Over Comfort

Top (Primark) Skirt (Topshop) Boots (River Island)

Are you one of those many people whose wardrobe is full of items that aren’t exactly, loungewear worthy? Those items that when wearing you have to take care when walking up stairs, sitting down in Starbucks and picking up your shopping bag in fear that any second a thread may loosen or you may be showing a little more than uncalled for when you bend down. Well this skirt is the prime example of a confidence over comfort garment.
When I saw it in Topshop I fell in love with it! It was such a beautiful pattern and colour. The floral, slightly metallic, blush pink and gold pattern on a uniquely shaped skirt was perfect. Although, being a fairly short bodycon skirt the practicality of it isn’t great, but honestly, I wasn’t the slightest bit bothered. More than often enough when deciding outfits in the morning I choose clothes that make me feel good mentally rather than clothes that feel good to move in.

“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak” (Rachel Zoe), comfort would just be a plus side.

Quick. Get ready and go.

Kimono (Zara) Dress (Topshop) Boots (River Island)

Whilst I have been stuck in England this past week working my butt off every day my best friend has been chillin by a swimming pool in Spain. Yep, I’m quite jealous. Mainly because not having a summer holiday means I  have no excuse to stock up on bikinis and dresses. Damn.
But anyway, like most friends after one has been on holiday, we needed a catch up. Although, sitting in eating chocolate, ice cream and watching movies didn’t really sound too inviting so we scooted out and went to Pizza Express. Honestly, the only reason we went there is because the polenta chips are to die for.
So after an afternoon at work teaching energetic five year olds gymnastics I didn’t look my best. As you can imagine, nobody would. But last minute plans then mean you have to be speedy getting ready. Easy makeup routine. Chuck up your hair. And throw on whatever is easy. But you still have to be a little practical with what you choose to wear. That food baby cannot be visible after dinner. No thank you.

So here’s my final decisions. I was so speedy at getting ready I was really quite impressed.

Like a lot of girls I have a go to makeup routine that I can rely on that won't easily go wrong. I rub some highlighter (soapandglory, hocusfocus) on my cheekbones, concealer (collection lastingperfecction) where necessary, apply my foundation (lauramercier silk creme foundation) with my fingers, add a little shape to my eyebrows and do a little bit of contouring with my (sleek countouring kit). With my eyes, they always take me so much time, I use two shades of brown eyeshadow (naked2 palette) using one on the outer corner on crease, smudge in brown pencil on my top and lower lash (maybelline master smoky shadow pencil) that I am absolutely in love with. Then finally I whip on some mascara and my (Revlon just bitten balm stick in shade lovesick) I am absolutely in love with this shade!
Looking at this now I got so much done in the time I had!

I'm one of those that can never really be bothered to do much with my hair, so decided on my go to hairstyle. I spray some (toni and guy) sea salt spray in to give it some texture and simply scrape it back into a pony and wrap a bit of hair around. I love this hairstyle so much. It's so damn easy.
